As the first Pallet Network, Palletline have always been proud of our strapline - The People Driving Palletised Distribution.
As a member owned network (every member that completes deliveries on behalf of Palletline is a shareholder of our network), we’re always looking for innovative ways of doing things to make sure our members get added benefit from being part of the Palletline family.
Take training for example… we have 70+ member depots within our network each facing similar challenges every day and wanting to develop similar skills and experience within their staff. So that’s why we have the Palletline Academy.
The Palletline Academy hosts and facilitates a wide range of training workshops. These workshops are developed to meet Member needs and are arranged by the Hub. All a member needs to do is turn up and be confident that the workshop is going to be relevant, good quality and most of all well worth a day out of the depot.
Some of our workshops are run by our internal experts – like training on our internal IT systems. However, some are run by external consultants or experts, each of which has been sourced and approved by Palletline Plc.
One of the recent additions to the line up is a Social Media workshop. Palletline Plc wanted to set up a social media strategy (this very blog in fact) but needed to know more about what we were getting ourselves into. From conversations with Members it seemed that they were coming across the same question so why not share the experience?
We sourced a great trainer (Gareth from the National B2B Centre who we recommend) and arranged a date. 8 member companies sent a representative on the workshop and, as the Academy is a not-for-profit service, each paid a fraction of what they would have paid to attend an external course. The feedback from the delegates was excellent and another date has already been booked for more members to attend.
We’re now experimenting with social media alongside our members and sharing best practice. It’s early days but with the experience and expertise within our network we can only go from strength to strength… let us know what you think?
